Tasmania's feelings...
Hi everybody !
We are now in Tasmania (the country of TAZ from cartoons, of course Mr Leg'), and here are our first impressions about this Island in the very south of Australia.
It is a very wild place with only 250 000 people living here, with about 90 percent of them in the 3 major towns called Hobart, Devonport, and Lauceston.
It is very windy, but not as cold as we have been talk about. Nearly 20 degree.
For our first week here, there has been several catastrophs. Firstly, there was a big fire near our campground, in the north of the island. A lot of fields were burned. Secondly, fifteen whales died at Smithton by crashing on the coast because of the tide. Finally, we have read on local newspaper that a shark attack occurs in the north-east : a young girl who was surfing was beaten at the leg (she is now at the hospital, but no danger for her life).
But we are healthy !!!! We walked in the Freycenet National Park to see the Wineglass Bay. We were driving from Hobart to Launceston, via Tasman Peninsula. We have seen the Cataract Gorge at Launceston. Now, we want to drive to Walls of Jerusalem, in order into walk to the National Park.
It's a nice place !!!
